What is Lucidchart and what is it used for?
Lucidchart is an online tool from Lucid for building diagrams together: flowcharts, process diagrams, system architecture maps, and other drawings that represent steps, decisions, and structures. It serves process, operations, and engineering teams.
Work starts from ready-made templates or a blank page, and several people edit the same document at once. Diagrams can be shared by link for review and embedded in tools the team already uses, such as Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Slack, Jira, and Confluence.
A feature that sets it apart from an ordinary drawing program is data linking: shapes can be connected to Google Sheets, Excel and CSV files, or Salesforce, and the diagram updates when the source changes. Lucid AI also generates diagrams from a text description.
There is a free plan, limited to 3 editable documents.
