What is Netlify and what is it used for?
Netlify is a platform that connects code and infrastructure to build, publish and run websites and web applications, with automatic deploys from a Git repository.
Each change pushed to the repository makes Netlify build the project and update the site. On pull requests and branches it generates a separate preview URL, so the team can review the application before it goes live.
Beyond hosting static files, the platform offers functions that run server logic on demand, edge functions that run in a Deno-based environment, form handling, simple authentication through Netlify Identity and key-value storage with Netlify Blobs. All of it is versioned and deployed together with the site.
Developers and product teams use it to publish static sites, front-end framework applications and projects with a few server functions without managing servers. The Netlify CLI lets you deploy projects and fit deployment into the development workflow.
